My life has revolved around education and art. I began drawing at the age of 4 and won my first state contest at 7. In high school I was a member of Future Teachers of America and I knew then that teaching would be my life. The 3 most influential people in my life have been my parents for always supporting my love of art, Mr. French, my elementary art teacher for seeing my potential and Mrs. Gee, my high school art teacher for pushing me towards my goals.
I have a Bachelor of Art in Fine Arts with an emphasis in painting and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Nebraska. I also have my masters in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix. I am a highly qualified teacher and state certified in Arizona and Nebraska. I have been teaching art and drama for 10 years. I have added the role of wife and mother to my list of important things in my life. Being a mother has changed my perspective on many areas of education. I realize now how fast children grow up and the few opportunities they have to be creative in a traditional school day. I want to share my love of art with all children and my dream is to be an inspiration to them.
